In the beginning....

Where to start? At the beginning I guess.

After a lifetime of cycling I finally discovered long-distance touring last year during a July spent cyclo-camping in the French Alps, and I was hooked.

I'm planning to cycle around Australia, probably in September or October 2007, having been allowed a year's sabattical by my organisation.

This is the start of the preparation, and I am going to detail it all here both to help me organise my planning and to hopefully help or entertain others of like mind.
